Research Interests
We conduct research on performance improvement of infrastructures and rationalization of design/fabrication/construction/maintenance, focusing mainly on bridge structures. In order to achieve structural safety, serviceability, durability and cost performance of infrastructures, our goal is to aim for construction of high-performance infrastructures, establishment of rational maintenance/management system of existing structures and promotion of urban renovation. The recent research topics are as follows.
- Structural design method of steel structures
- Rationalization of steel/composite/hybrid bridges
- Evaluation method of durability and remaining strength of existing bridges
- Bridge maintenance system
- Bridges and structures using fiber reinforced plastics (FRP)
- Repair and strengthening methods of existing steel structures
- Evaluation and maintenance of historic bridges
