Research Interests

Our research of interests include internal waves, wind-induced upwelling, saline intrusion, nonlinear surface waves and numerical methods. We mainly conduct laboratory experiments and numerical simulation to understand the physical properties of waves and currents in coastal area and enclosed bays. focus on developing numerical simulators based on finite-volume method (Fantom series), finite-element method (Antares), particle method (HydroGEN) and lattice Boltzmann method. We also develop deep learning models to predict river discharge and wind field over a meandering For field measurement, we utilized an infra-red camera mounted on UAV to measure two dimensional surface temperature distribution of a reservoir.
