Research policy and content

Water issues and disaster prevention are issues related to many of the SDGs, including SDG6 and SDG11.On the other hand, natural disasters have occurred all over the world, causing economic damage of 30 trillion dollars (approximately 3 trillion yen) over the past 5000 years and killing 400 million people.Damage is increasing due to urbanization and climate change, and international organizations such as UNESCO, the World Bank, and the Asian Development Bank, as well as JICA, are working to reduce damage, which is the basis for economic development in developing countries. .In Japan as well, river basin flood control is being promoted in which all concerned parties work together to tackle the entire basin.

In collaboration with international organizations, government agencies, private companies, other universities and research institutes, we are developing risk management and water/disaster prevention technologies using advanced technologies such as AI and advanced analysis models.

  3. Analysis and technology development from the perspectives of nature, society, economy, and policy regarding international water and disaster prevention
