Dissanayaka Mudiyanselage Pavithra Sudeshika, Takuto Kumagai, and Momoko Takagi from the River and Hydrology Laboratory received the Special Student Award from the Graduate School of Urban Environmental Sciences. At the award ceremony, the award was presented by Professor Toru Yoshikawa, Dean of the Graduate School of Urban Environmental Sciences.

Dissanayaka Mudiyanselage Pavithra Sudeshika (3rd year doctoral student)
Reason for the award: She was recognized for her excellent research with originality and high feasibility, and received the JSPRS Award at the 45th Asian Conference on Remote Sensing (Sri Lanka). Her research attitude has become a model for other students.
Takuto Kumagai (1st year master's student)
Reason for the award: He led the Japan Water Forum youth delegation and promoted Japan's river basin flood management to the world at the 10th World Water Forum. He also participated in the Water Future Conference 2024 and the Global Young Scientists Summit 2025, and actively engaged in research and activities. His enthusiastic attitude has become a role model for other students.
Momoko Takagi (1st year master's student)
Reason for the award: She contributed to international exchange through studying abroad at the University of the Philippines and supporting international students and visiting faculty. She also used her knowledge to win the Excellent Poster Award at the 32nd Global Environmental Symposium. Her research activities with an international perspective have become a model for other students.

Tact Kumagae (Master's Program, 1st year)
He led the Japan Water Forum Youth Delegation in participating in the 10th World Water Forum held in Indonesia, at which he promoted Japan's integrated river basin management on a global stage. Furthermore, he was actively engaged in research and activities by participating in the Water Future Conference 2024 and the Global Young Scientists Summit 2025, serving as a role model for other students.
Momoko Takagi (Master's Program, 1st year)
She contributed to international exchanges by studying at the University of the Philippines Los Banos and supporting international students and visiting faculty members. Moreover, she received the Best Poster Award at the 32nd Global Environmental Symposium of JSCE held in Kumamoto. Her international perspective and research activities have been exemplary for other students.
